The short version: we don't collect anything. This website has no cookies or tracking, and the apps only ever talk to the Nightscout site you tell them to use.

This website

• There are no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no forms.
• Fonts and images are served from this site. Nothing is loaded from Google or other third parties.
• The site is hosted by GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may log technical information such as your IP address when you visit, to run and secure the service. That's covered by the GitHub General Privacy Statement. We don't have access to those logs.
• Download links go to GitHub Releases, which GitHub also operates.

The apps

NightscoutBar (macOS) and NightscoutWidget (Windows) run entirely on your computer.

• They connect only to the Nightscout URL you enter, to read your glucose readings and device status (IOB and COB).
• Your readings are never sent to us or anyone else. There's no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no other server.
• Your settings, including your Nightscout URL and access token, are stored only on your computer:
  • NightscoutBar: settings in the app's macOS preferences; the token in the macOS Keychain
  • NightscoutWidget: settings in %APPDATA%\NSWidget\config.json; the token encrypted with Windows Data Protection so only your Windows account can read it
• Use a read-only (readable) Nightscout token, never your API secret.
• To remove everything, delete the app and its settings (on a Mac, also the “NightscoutBar” item in Keychain Access).

Your Nightscout site

Your Nightscout site is run by you or your hosting provider, not by us. How your data is stored there is covered by their terms. If your site allows public reading, anyone who knows its address can see your readings. Consider requiring a token instead.

Not a medical device

These apps show data from your own Nightscout site for convenience only. Don't make treatment decisions from them. Always check your CGM app or meter. The software is provided “as is”, without warranty, under the MIT licence.
